Built with: Timesheet Profitability Summary, Projects Cost Summary

Rows MCP vs Zoho's MCP server

Zoho Books has its own MCP server. Rows MCP covers every client.

Zoho's official MCP server connects Zoho Books and other Zoho apps to AI tools, with the actions each app exposes. Rows MCP adds what a firm with clients on more than one platform needs: Xero, QuickBooks Online and Zoho Books in one connection, and the same figures as live Excel tables you can check.

Rows vs Zoho Books export

Exports are free. Redoing them every month isn't.

Zoho Books exports lists to Excel and can email reports on a schedule. Each file is a snapshot: once the books change, it's out of date. Rows keeps the report in the sheet you already have open.

FAQ

Your questions, answered.

More in the help centre →

Does Zoho Books integrate with Excel?

Zoho Books can export lists to Excel and email reports on a schedule, but those files don't update. Rows works with every Zoho Books plan: it pulls live Zoho Books reports and records into Excel and refreshes them in one click, for every entity you look after.

How do I connect Zoho Books to Excel?

Add Rows for Excel from Microsoft Marketplace, open the Rows pane and sign in. Add your Zoho Books entities, choose a report and press Run Report. It lands as an Excel table you can refresh.

Can I export Zoho Books reports to Excel and keep them up to date?

Yes, without exporting. Rows pulls the report into Excel once. Press Refresh for the latest Zoho Books figures, or switch on Automatic Refresh and it updates each time you open the workbook.

Which Zoho Books reports can I pull into Excel?

More than 70, in Zoho Books' own groups: Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement; sales, purchases and expenses by customer, vendor and item; receivables and payables; inventory and stock movement; project and timesheet reports, including Timesheet Profitability Summary; and the General Ledger and Trial Balance. Rows also brings in more than 30 raw data tables.

Can I post from Excel to Zoho Books?

No. On Zoho Books, Rows for Excel runs reports and pulls records into Excel, and you refresh them in one click. Posting back works on Xero and QuickBooks Online.

Is there a Zoho Books MCP server? Why use Rows MCP?

Yes. Zoho publishes an official MCP server that connects Zoho Books and other Zoho apps to AI tools. Rows MCP also covers clients on Xero and QuickBooks Online in the same connection, and Rows puts the same figures in Excel as live tables you can check.

Does it work with more than one Zoho Books entity?

Yes. Connect every entity you look after and pull the same report for each, side by side in one workbook. Clients on Xero and QuickBooks Online sit in the same Rows list.

Is it safe to connect Zoho Books to Rows?

Yes. You sign in on Zoho's own page, so Rows for Excel never holds your Zoho password, and you can revoke access there at any time. Rows reads your Zoho Books reports live, doesn't store them on Rows servers, and can't change your books.

Does Rows work with Excel for Mac?

Yes. Rows for Excel runs in Excel for Windows and Excel for Mac, so you can bring Zoho Books data into either. Install it once from Microsoft Marketplace.

Open Excel. Connect Zoho Books. Run Report.

Free trial, no card needed.
